Who you are contracting with

Orrery is operated by Oleksandr Nazaruk, an individual entrepreneur ("ФОП") registered in Ukraine, tax number 3746203132, of 307 Akademika Pavlova Street, Kharkiv, Ukraine. The service runs at orrery.info, and [email protected] is the address for anything to do with these terms.

What Orrery does

Orrery calculates astronomical positions with the Swiss Ephemeris and draws them as an astrological chart. It then presents interpretations of those positions drawn from a curated body of astrological material, and — on the plans that include it — can generate a written reading using an AI model.

The astronomical calculation is precise and can be checked against any ephemeris. The interpretation is astrology. Those are different kinds of statement and the next section is about the difference.

What a reading is, and what it is not

Astrological interpretation is offered for reflection, self-examination and interest. It is not a factual claim about you, your future, or anyone else. Astrology is not a science, and no part of this service is evidence of anything.

We do not promise that any interpretation is correct, that anything described in a reading will happen, or that it describes you at all. The astronomical positions are calculated precisely and can be checked against any ephemeris; everything said about what they mean is astrological tradition, not a finding, and is provided as it is.

Nothing here is medical, psychological, psychiatric, legal, financial, investment, tax, employment or professional advice of any kind. No reading creates a doctor-patient, therapist-client, lawyer-client or advisory relationship, and nothing in the service substitutes for a qualified professional. Do not use it to decide whether to seek treatment, take or stop medication, end a relationship, make an investment, sign a contract, hire or refuse someone, or make any other decision with real consequences — and do not make it the sole basis of any decision at all. For those, consult someone qualified in that field.

If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, please contact a doctor or an emergency service in your country. An astrological reading is not help of that kind.

You use the service on your own responsibility, and you alone are responsible for what you do with what you read here. By using it you confirm that you have read this section and accept it. If you read charts for other people, professionally or not, the interpretation you give them is yours: you are responsible for it, and this section reaches them through you.

About the AI readings in particular

Readings on the AI plans are written by a language model working from your chart and from our interpretation material. Language models produce fluent text that can be mistaken, internally inconsistent, or simply invented. Nobody reviews a reading before you see it.

Treat the output as a draft to think with, never as a finding. Everything in the previous section applies to it with extra force.

AI features are metered: each plan includes a stated number of readings per period. A reading you cancel, or one that fails, does not count against the allowance. Allowances do not roll over.

Your account

• You must be at least 18 to hold an account.
• Give a real email address — it is how we confirm the account and how you recover it.
• Keep your password to yourself. Anything done through your account is treated as done by you.
• One account per person. Do not share it.
• Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has got into it.

Entering other people's details

You may build charts for other people. When you do, you confirm that you are entitled to use their birth details for this purpose — because they agreed, or for another lawful reason — and you take responsibility for that. If someone objects to details you entered about them, we may remove that data.

If you read charts for clients professionally, that relationship is between you and your client. We are not party to it and take no responsibility for advice you give.

Plans and payment

• There is a free tier. Paid plans unlock further chart techniques, panels and AI allowances, as described on the pricing page.
• The price is the one shown on the pricing page when you subscribe. Prices may change for future periods; we will tell you before a change affects you, and you can cancel instead.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. Cancel any time from your account; access continues to the end of the period you have paid for, and nothing further is charged.
• If a payment fails we do not cut you off that day: we email you, try the card again over the following three days, and only if the last attempt fails does the plan return to the free tier. Nothing is deleted when it does.
• Payments are handled by a payment provider. Your card details are entered on their page and never reach us; we keep only a token that lets them charge that card again for this account, along with its masked number and brand so you can see which card is on file.
• Moving to a higher plan takes effect at once: we credit the unused part of the period you have paid for and charge only the difference. Moving to a lower one takes effect at the end of that period, so you keep what you bought.
• The price you subscribe at is the price you keep. If we change what new subscribers pay, existing ones are told by email before it could affect them. The currency is fixed when you subscribe and does not change if you move country.
• Prices shown in dollars are charged by our payment provider in hryvnia, converted at their rate on the day, so your statement will show a hryvnia amount. A refund returns the hryvnia that was taken.

If you move to a lower plan, your saved charts are not deleted. Charts above the new plan's limit remain readable; you will not be able to save new ones until you are under the limit again.

Refunds and the right to withdraw

As a consumer buying at a distance you have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase. Because a subscription gives you immediate access to a digital service, you are asked to agree to it starting straight away — which, under Ukrainian and EU consumer rules, ends the withdrawal right once the service has been supplied.

In practice we would rather you were not stuck with something you do not want: within 14 days of a payment, if you have not used more than one AI reading in that period, write to [email protected] — or use the refund button on your billing page, which appears whenever those conditions are met and which each account can use once. Refunding a period ends the subscription immediately; refunding a plan change hands back only the difference you paid for it and returns you to the plan you were on, for the rest of the period you had already bought. After that first refund, and outside the window, cancelling stops the next charge but does not refund the current period; write to us and we will still look at it.

This paragraph does not reduce any right you have by law, including a refund where the service was defective.

How you may use the service

Please do not:

• Access the service by automated means — scripts, scrapers, bots — or try to bulk-extract the interpretation material.
• Resell, redistribute or republish the interpretation content, or present it as your own material.
• Share, resell or provide access to your account.
• Circumvent plan limits, quotas or the paywall, or try to reach data belonging to other users.
• Attack the service, probe it for weaknesses without permission, or disrupt it for others.
• Reverse engineer the service except where the law expressly allows it.
• Use it for anything illegal, or to profile, harass or make decisions about people who have not agreed to it.

We may suspend or close an account that does these things. Where the breach is minor and fixable, we will normally ask first.

Who owns what

The software, the design, the charts it draws and the interpretation material belong to the operator or are used under licence from their authors. Your subscription buys you a personal, non-transferable right to use them while it lasts — not ownership of the material.

What you put in stays yours: your birth details, your charts, your notes. The readings generated for you are yours to use, keep and show your clients. What you may not do is repackage the underlying interpretation material as a product of your own.

Availability

The service is offered as it is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change or withdraw features. If a paid feature is withdrawn permanently and that materially reduces what you paid for, you can cancel and get back the unused part of the period.

We keep nightly backups, but you should keep your own record of anything you cannot afford to lose.

Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, the operator is not liable for decisions you make on the basis of a chart or a reading, for any loss of profit, opportunity, data or reputation, or for indirect or consequential loss of any kind.

Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the total amount you paid in the twelve months before the claim arose, or EUR 50 if you paid nothing.

Nothing here excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded — including a consumer's mandatory rights.

Ending the agreement

You can stop at any time: cancel the subscription, or delete the account from your settings, which erases your charts and everything attached to them. We may close an account for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, and will refund the unused part of a paid period unless the breach was deliberate.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service develops. The date at the top changes with them, and if a change materially affects your rights we will email account holders before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means accepting the new terms; if you would rather not, cancel and we will refund the unused part of the period.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Ukraine, and disputes go to the Ukrainian courts. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory rules of your own country's law.

If one clause turns out to be unenforceable, the rest stands.
